Learning Objectives


The learning objectives for Public Health Emergency Preparedness for Pharmacy Professionals educational session are:


1. Describe the role of the pharmacists in emergency preparedness and response.

2. Relate how pharmacists can be involved in emergency preparedness and response through the Regional Hospital Coalition.

3. Describe medical countermeasures and dispensing within Virginia.

4. Utilize guidance designed to assist with the dispensing of medication during an emergency.

5. Recall tools to communicate with the public and reaching vulnerable populations. 

6. Relate how pharmacists can become involved in emergency preparedness and response through their local Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) units.
